The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation has provided support to help people directly disadvantaged by HIV pay for essential costs and services since 1984.
A detailed overview of the assistance we can provide is available here.
However, we do not provide emergency or crisis assistance such as food, food vouchers, day services or cash payments. This type of emergency assistance is available from charitable organisations, such as the Smith Family, The Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, Anglicare, and a range of neighbourhood centres and local charities.
The application of Financial Assistance is flexible and based on individual needs. We will consider any reasonable application for financial assistance.
All applications for financial assistance are made through your allocated case worker. We need to know what the costs are, why they are necessary and what other options have been explored for resolving the problem before approaching us.
Once you have done this, we then need to see appropriate documentation in order to provide financial assistance. This could be a written account, invoice, quote, receipt, lease or similar, and it can be in the form of an original document, photocopy or fax. Invoices and receipts must contain an ABN (Australian Business Number) from a registered company.
Your case worker will then approve eligible requests for financial assistance. This approval needs to be obtained before any goods or services are ordered or before any money is paid.
