Does BGF accept donations of white-goods and furniture?

No, however we can refer you to St Vincent de Paul, who do accept such donations. Their number is: (02) 9560 8666

I am HIV positive, and currently working. Can BGF help me?

Yes. Both our Positive Futures programme and our financial counselling service are available to any PLWH living in NSW.

I've lost my wallet and I have no money. Can BGF give me some money until I get paid?

No, BGF does not give cash assistance. Our financial assistance is tailored for clients with specific bills they require assistance with.

If you are in a crisis situation where you require immediate money to pay for food or shelter, the following agencies may be able to help:

  • Salvation Army
  • Anglicare
  • St Vincent de Paul
  • The Smith Family

Can I access my super?

You may be able to access your super if you are experiencing hardship. We advise you to contact HALC (HIV / AIDS Legal Centre). Their office can reached through ACON by calling 9206 2000. We also suggest you make an appointment to see our financial counsellor.

How do I see a counsellor at BGF?

Contact our office to make an appointment, and refer to our fact sheet for information you will need to bring to an appointment.

I want to get back into the work force. Can BGF help?

Yes, BGF runs the Positive Futures programme which provides practical advice and assistance with a range of issues for PLWH in NSW who are looking to return to work.

I'm feeling discriminated against because I'm HIV positive. Can BGF help?

Yes, we can assist by refering you to the appropriate agencies which can advocate on your behalf. HALC (HIV / AIDS Legal Center) can provide you with legal services in regards to these matters. Their office can reached through ACON by calling 9206 2000.
