Learn how to cook healthy meals on a budget! BGF’s Eat Well, Live Well program is a 10-week healthy eating workshop for people living with HIV. Each week participants will cook a 2 course lunch, supervised in the fully equipped Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre's commercial kitchen which is run by Stephen Lunny.
The program includes:
- Groups sessions with a Dietician
- One on one consultations
- Food label budgeting
- Grocery shopping trips
- Where to eat out on a budget
- Healthy eating tips
- How to find the motivation to cook for one
- Kitchen and food hygiene
- Hands on cooking skills.
The program is run by BGF’s Program Coordinator and the Community Programs Coordinator at Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre (SHNC) in NSW. Both of the Coordinators are HIV peers which allows them a unique insight into the value of a healthy life with HIV. The SHNC Community Programs Coordinator is a qualified chef.
The program launches on Thursday 15th April at 11am - 2pm.
