Healing Through Art is an art group to provide social connectivity, promote joy and reduce anxiety for people who are living with HIV. This group aims to encourage healthy self-expression through creative practice.
You will use a combination of therapeutic activities and art practices to explore your powerful story of resistance. You will be encouraged to express difficult emotions in a way that feels safe to you in a peer supported safe space. In this group you will share your story, listen to your peers and support each other's unique journey.
No art experience required. We welcome everyone and meet you wherever you are on your journey.
At the end of the 6 weeks, you will be invited to showcase your work in an art exhibition. All participants will have the choice to remain anonymous.
Healing Through Art starts Thursday 20 May and runs for 6 weeks until Thursday 24 June from 6:30pm - 8pm. The program takes place at the BGF Head Office in Surry Hills.
All equipment will be provided by BGF.
Please note, programs need a minimum of 6 attendants to proceed. If less than 6 participants sign up by the start date, applicants will be placed on a waitlist until the minimum level is reached.
