Bobby Goldsmith Foundation celebrates 40 years of care and support for people living with HIV
This year marks a profound milestone for the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) as it commemorates its 40th anniversary of unwavering dedication and support for people living with HIV.
Founded in May 1984, BGF has evolved into Australia’s oldest HIV charity. From its humble beginnings born from love and solidarity, the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation has remained committed to its mission to empower and uplift people living with HIV. In its four decades, BGF has provided comprehensive care, support services, advocacy and community initiatives in Sydney, throughout New South Wales and South Australia. Their tireless efforts have helped countless individuals to navigate the complexities of living with HIV.
To honour and reflect on this significant milestone, the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation invites friends, supporters and allies to join in a special anniversary celebration at Universal Bar – the site of the former Midnight Shift and the historic birthplace of BGF. Guests will come together for an evening of reflection and remembrance, paying tribute to the legacy of Bobby Goldsmith and all those who have contributed to BGF’s remarkable journey.
“As we reflect on 40 years, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who came before us,” said Nick Lawson, CEO of the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation. “Your commitment, generosity and love have been instrumental in our efforts to provide compassionate care and support to all living with HIV. We look forward to celebrating our 40th anniversary with those who have shaped our history.”
The anniversary event promises to be a memorable occasion with special guests, live performances and opportunities to connect with community members and friends of BGF.
